CodeJam didn't go well

I was very excited to start the 2020 Python Discord Summer Code Jam. My team and I were able to create a decent frontend, but the backend was a bit of a challenge. Getting the Socket to send and receive data wasn't too hard, but at some point, it stopped working. The real problem was that not a lot of team members were active. I expected some people to have a crack at solving some of the issues but no one was available to do so. In the end, the project was incomplete. I did learn how to use WebSockets efficiently, but this was probably not my best code jam.
